How Does the Peristaltic Pump Work?

Ⅰ. The Working Principle of Peristaltic Pump

The peristaltic pump is composed of a driver, a pump head and a hose.  It is like squeezing a hose filled with fluid with your fingers, and the fluid in the tube moves forward as the fingers slide forward. The same is true for peristaltic pumps, except that the fingers are replaced with rollers. It pumps fluid by alternately squeezing and releasing the elastic delivery hose of the pump. It is just like squeezing a hose with two fingers. As the fingers move, negative pressure is formed in the tube, and the liquid flows along with it.

A peristaltic pump is a "pillow"-shaped fluid formed by a section of pump tube between two rotating rollers. The volume of the "pillow" depends on the inner diameter of the pump tube and the geometric characteristics of the rotor. The flow rate depends on the product of the speed of the pump head, the size of the "pillow" and the number of "pillows" produced per revolution of the rotor. The size of the "pillow" is generally constant. Compared with a pump with the same rotor diameter, a pump with a larger "pillow" volume will deliver a larger volume of fluid per revolution of the rotor. But the level of pulsation is also higher. The pump with a smaller "pillow" has a smaller volume of fluid conveyed per revolution of the rotor; and the small "pillow" formed quickly and continuously, making the fluid flow more stable. This is similar to how a gear pump works.

As a competitive peristaltic pump supplier, the main advantages of our peristaltic pumps are fluid isolation in the pump tube, fast pump tube replacement, fluid reversal, dry operation, and low maintenance costs.

Ⅱ. Why Use a Peristaltic Pump for a Water Dispenser?

1. The peristaltic pump is pollution-free: the fluid only touches the pump tube, not the pump body;

2. High precision: the peristaltic pump has high repeatability and stability accuracy;

3. Low shear force: ideal for conveying shear-sensitive and aggressive fluids tools;

4. Good airtightness: the peristaltic pump has the good self-priming ability and can be idle to prevent backflow;

5. Simple maintenance of the peristaltic pump: no valves and seals;

6. The peristaltic pump has a bidirectional equal flow delivery capacity;

7. No liquid or air operation will not cause damage to any part of the pump;

8. 98% vacuum can be generated;

9. Without valves, mechanical seals and packing seals, there will be no leakage and maintenance factors;

10. Peristaltic pumps can easily transport solids, liquids or gas-liquid mixtures fluid. The diameter of the solid contained in the fluid is allowed to reach 40% of the inner diameter of the tubular element;

11. The peristaltic pump can transport various materials and various foods that are abrasive, corrosive, and oxygen-sensitive;

12. The peristaltic pump only has a hose that needs to be replaced. The operation of replacement is very simple.

13. The conveyed product does not come into contact with any parts except the hose.
