Working Principle And Classification Of Syringe Pump

Syringe Pump consists of stepper motor, driver, leadscrew, borosilicate glass, PTFE plunger, bracket etc., which is also named as screw pump because it includes leadscrew and nut. Nut and plunger are connected with liquid medicine filled in to realize liquid transfer with high precision and stable with no pulse. Syringe pump can be classified with lab syringe pump, medical syringe pump and industrial syringe pump.

 

Working Principle

 

1.    PWM control

Stepper motor of syringe pump drive the leadscrew to make rotatory movement into linear movement then push the plunger to inject liquid when it received the control pulse from PLC system to realize high precision and stable liquid transfer. After powered on, CPU provide motor driving voltage with the help of D/A transfer. Stepper motor turns to indicate circuit as a photoelectric coupling circuit, pulse signal was produced through motor running, which be feedback to CPU, CPU will control motor voltage according to the feedback to obtain specific setting speed.

2.    Serial communication

Embedded system receives control commands from RS232, RS485,CAN then send out drive pulse accordingly to control stepper motor which will be driven by leadscrew to make rotatory movement into linear movement then push the plunger to inject liquid to realize high accuracy and stable liquid transfer. Speed of syringe pump can be preset by operator with no relation to motor speed. Motor speed will be self-adapted through coded disc and driver feedback closed loop control “motor output speed-coded disc turning- photoelectric switch inspection-motor speed control” formed by photoelectric switch and embedded system to realize stable motor speed output.

 

Classification of Syringe Pump

 

1.    Syringe pump can be functionally classified with medical use, non-medical use, lab micro syringe pump and industrial syringe pump.

2.    Syringe pump can be classified into single channel and multiple channels (double channels, four channels, six channels, eight channels, ten channels etc.) according to channel numbers.

3.    Syringe pump can be divided into single push and two-way push according to working mode.

4.    Syringe pump can be divided into Split type and combine type according to structure.
